Barry Hopper

Financial Consultant

About Barry Hopper

After obtaining a first class degree in Accountancy, Barry joined British Airways and held multiple management positions across the company, with his last role involving managing a move which led to a $4 billion proposal with American Airlines. During his time in BA, Barry became a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting, obtaining the highest worldwide mark in one of the stage 4 final papers. After taking a role in Amersham plc as the Senior Manager in Corporate Governance, Barry returned to Newcastle as the Finance Director for the Sage plc Mid-Market Division.

In 2005, Barry decided to follow in his father David’s footsteps and take over his practice as an Independent Financial Consultant working with Lowes. For just over a year, Barry shadowed David, learning about our business and meeting clients, and upon his father’s retirement, Barry became a Consultant in his own right, servicing an expanding client base.

“Giving people an independent view, which allows them to make a decision based on as much information as possible, that is vitally important to me.”

Aside from work, Barry has a passion for cricket, rugby and football but these days his time is taken up by his young family.
