Between 2000 and 2006 we published our
reviews of stockmarket linked bonds.
Our initial motivation stemmed from the fact that many of the income contracts launched in 2000 were, in our opinion investments that were suitable for no one. Yet these investments were being heavily promoted from a number of quarters and we therefore took steps to warn our clients and the wider public both via mailings, our website and through consultation with various Journalists.
Our concerns were subsequently justified in what became the “precipice bond scandal” and whilst the contracts launched since then have been on significantly more sensible terms, we
continued to publish our analysis to highlight those that we felt offered good
value up until the end of 2006.
Although many private clients and journalists were on the database of individuals who
were automatically kept up to date with contracts we
reviewed, we were flattered by the number of other Independent Financial Advisers and product providers who
were interested in our research and we hope it proved helpful.
Unfortunately, expansion elsewhere in the Company has led us to review the viability of continuing to allocate the resource necessary to maintain this aspect of our website and we
took the decision not to publish our analysis of contracts with a launch date after 1st January 2007.
As we still analyse virtually all product offerings, Journalists or prospective investors wishing to discuss a particular offering should not hesitate to contact us.
We will also endeavour to continue to add the maturity results for the contracts shown and we hope that these also prove useful.
Kind Regards
